In the times of jesus.??? time?

if you could be in the day and age of that time period. you are walking around in sandals slapping a mule around. and you are carrying lantern with fire. and someone walks up to you and says in the future, man will travel from here la ..to there n.y in 3 hours instead of 6 months or what ever time it took. would that be the same as someone walking up to us and saying in the future you can go from la to ny in 3 mins?
