AS much as it seems really awkward you should talk to him and explain the situation. I don't think you should tell him we'll just be friends because then he'll think you don't like him and don't tell him you do because that just makes things worse. So tell him you want to start back at the beginning and talk and hang out with each other and maybe he'll ask you. good luck hun. be confident
