I got a fine in CA for not sending back my registration Fix-it ticket. After I pay the fine is it over with?

A couple months ago I got a fix it ticket for an expired registration, and I got it corrected right away, but than FORGOT TO SEND IT BACK. Now I have a hefty fine which is okay, I suppose. It is my first ticket, offense, anything. I just what to make sure that after I pay it everything is over and done with.
